Description

Ingredients

  • 2 c fresh lilac blooms
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 1 lemon juiced (4 tablespoons)
  • 1 pk powdered pectin
  • 4 c sugar

Instructions

Place blossoms in a glass jar and cover them with boiling water making an infusion. Put a lid on and set aside for 24 hours. The infusion will become bluish green. Strain and discard lilacs and add lemon juice to the infusion. Stir in the powdered pectin and bring to a boil. Add 4 cups sugar and bring to a boil again. Allow it to boil vigorously for one minute, skimming if necessary. Finish by pouring into sterile jars and seal.
