TRAIN THE TRAINER CANNING WORKSHOPS

This two day workshop is specifically for those who want to teach canning classes in their community. Learn up-to-date safe canning practices as well as theoretical and practical techniques. We will review old and new canning equipment and tools as well as discuss the various canning products and ingredients on the market today. Find out about canning and safe food handling resources available to you. Discuss how to run a canning workshop that best suits your community's needs. Bring your canning questions and comments! Please bring a packed lunch for both days. Coffee, tea and water provided.

Active learning and theory discussions will be facilitated by: Diane Collis, Manager, Fresh Choice Kitchens, Ellen Wickberg, retired Nutritionist, and Darlene Tanaka, Co-ordinator, Fresh Choice Kitchens

Registration is limited to 8 per class and payment must be made 10 days prior to the workshop. Cancellations must be done at the latest, 72 hours before. No refunds for no-shows. The workshop may be rescheduled if registration numbers are not met.

Location: Vancouver Food Bank, 1150 Raymur Ave. in Vancouver
Cost: $145.00 for this 2 day workshop.

Price includes: Fresh Choice Canning Training Manual, canning pot with flat rack, canning cookbook, home canning tool kit , two jars of home canned product from the workshop.
