The Farmland Defence League and Gateway - Town Hall meeting in Langley
The Farmland Defence League and Gateway 40 Citizens Network invites farmland advocates and Gateway opponents from across the region to attend a Town Hall meeting in Langley being co-hosted by federal Parliamentary Secretary for the Environment, Mark Warawa, MP, Mary Polak, MLA and Langley City Mayor, Peter Fassbender to take issue with the Harper/Campbell governments' plans to destroy several hundred acres of Langley's best farmland for more highways.
The townhall meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th, 2010 10:30 am to noon Nicomekl Elementary School 20050 West 53rd Avenue Langley, BC
FARMLAND AND FOOD SECURITY are not local issues. The fate of Langley farmland affects every British Columbian. There has been no public consultation process, no legally required cumulative impact environmental assessment process. FORT LANGLEY BRAT PACK: This affects the Davis farm - land that David & his father and grandfather have been working for more than 100 years. I know that David and Nicole will appreciate all support - even if you just come out to quietly support them.
